Facebook yesterday officially unveiled Hashtags to its platform, it was much foreseen by many Social Media Experts around and finally it is here. Well, when I think about hashtags, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram are the three social media platforms that comes to my mind. I was so addicted to hashtags that I started searching them on Google and I got relevant search results, and mostly it was Google+ and Twitter. Now I can expect Facebook results also, at least on Bing.
See what Facebook says about introducing hashtags-
Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you’ll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic.
Now you can:
- Search for a specific hashtag from your search bar. For example, #NBAFinals.
- Click on hashtags that originate on other services, such as Instagram.
- Compose posts directly from the hashtag feed and search results.
As always, you control the audience for your posts, including those with hashtags.
Well personally I feel this gonna change a lot of things for Facebook pages, Facebook ads, groups, conversations, Facebook contests and so on. Look at what some of the famous Social Media Champs has to say about it-

But, it also looks like many Twitter users really got pissed off
I have seen many users getting mad on Facebook Hashtags. Look at the tweets below, some of them are really funny and some really make sense.

The last thing I want in #FacebookHashtags is people clicking on one and the link helping them land directly on Twitter.
